The firm “Dobrudja Export” started its business in 1993, with renting 247 acres of farmland in the region of the village of Kraishte, General Toshevo. With the time, the firm rented more and more land and expanded its range of activities. In 2002 it bought the assets of the “Dobromirtzi” Cooperation (village of Izvorovo), where the headquarters of the firm was set up – agricultural machinery, maintenance and grain storage facilities.

Currently, the firm cultivates 3 500 acres of farmland near seven villages in the region of General Toshevo. It produces four different crops – wheat, rape, sunflower and maize.

The agricultural machinery is renewed regularly by using more modern equipment and machines. Also, modern and innovative production technology is used. The firm energetically participates in the programmes offered by the European funds, and it has benefited a lot from them.

The manager of the firm is Georgi Balabanov, who has a university degree and many years of active experience in agriculture. Both of his sons also work for the firm.

The manager Georgi Balabanov was born 1947. He finished the agricultural high school in Dobrich, and then he went on to graduate from the “Kliment Ohridski” University in Sofia – Bulgarian philology. During the first years after the firm was established, he ran the business on his own. Gradually, his two sons took on the management of both the production and trade.

Yordan Balabanov was born 1970. He has a university degree in mathematics and computers. His responsibilities in the firm include administration and supplies. He is fluent in French, and he can also speak English and Russian. He is married, with two children.

Ivan Balabanov was born 1975. He has a university degree in agricultural equipment engineering. He worked in Chicago, the USA, for a year. His responsibilities in the firm include maintenance of agricultural machinery and carrying out agricultural activities. He is fluent in English, and he can also speak Russian. He is married.
